As Thanksgiving approaches we must take time and give thanks for all we have. God, family, friends, food, a warm place to stay and trying the best we can to help our fellow man.
It is also time to reflect on the idea of Ben Franklin. Ben wanted to name the noble bird, the turkey as our national bird. A few things to ponder if this happened. (1). we would be eating eagle on Thanksgiving Day, (2). We could name our current Mayor Scott Johnson as our national symbol, instead of stuffed he is pickled most of the time, so we would celebrate with vodka pickled eagle stuffed with a Shauna Sutton.
Instead, the reality is that the eagle is our national bird and the turkey is our thanksgiving dinner, whether it’s roasted, deep fried or pickled.
It's too bad Johnson took Mel Torme literally and roasted his chestnuts over an open fire. Ouch!
Thank you Mayor Johnson. You are doing a great job for our fine city.
ReplyDeleteWhomever is the writer of this blog, should be ashamed of him/herself.
One person’s likes are another’s dislikes. I have grown up in Saratoga Springs and have live through many Mayors. Mayor Johnson and his sidekick Shauna are 2 of the worst in memory. He has cost the City so much money in not negotiating labor contracts, which he promised in his first campaign he could do because of his legal expertise. He has cost the City money in not negotiating contracts that had expired 5 to 6 years ago, with Saratoga losing valuable income. He has used outside attorney's paying out huge amounts of money (we pay 2 City Attorney's now with large salaries and what do they do?)Because of his asinine attitude feeling his legal background gives him the right to do so and that he is somewhat better than the average citizen. Also, let’s not forget his legacy, the Rec Center, which he promised that it would break even in the 1st year and then make a profit. It has never broke even and its cost to the taxpayer's is rising where it is now costing us in the neighborhood of over $200,000.00 yearly to subsidize its operation.
ReplyDeleteSo, you may think he is doing a fine job, but he hasn't proved it to me, and I’m the one who counts, just kidding.
I'd like to know where you get your information from?
Delete$200 K a year for the rec center?
Prove it.!!
First of all it is probably more that 200k. Second, I don't have to prove anything. You can do your own simple homework assignment. Here is how. Visit the City's website (you will also have to get that by yourself), click on transparency then just get the info on revenues and expenses for the catagories you need and presto, you did it.
DeleteBorn and raised here LOL. You are so full of shit Goldberg. If you had any balls you would sign your name to your trash.Even Muldoon has the guts to do that.
ReplyDeleteBut I forgot wife Nancy has the balls in your home
Oh, how wrong you are, but just shows what kind of followers Johnson has. Happy Thanksgiving.
