Please, I am asking for help, call City Hall and as one of
the posters Dave Morris swears to, ask for Skip and tell him personally (lol)
that we want the horses back in our shopping district and not the ‘ballet
slippers’ that look like Kim Kardashian’s butt.
It was most embarrassing last year as Saratoga Race Course celebrated
150 years of horse racing in Saratoga
and mysteriously the horses were put in a barn in favor of the slippers.
One of the reasons why the City catered to Ms. Riggi it was
rumored was because it was an election year and in order to open up the purse
strings to Skip & Shauna and the Republican Party she wanted them to play
ball. Well not this year, we want our
horses back. Remember the slogan ‘Health,
History & Horses’, no where in there does it say statues of Kim’s butt. Act now before it’s too late.

Captain! Skippy must be reading your posts. Please take a drive or walk pass Spit & Spat today, you won't believe the mess it's in. He had all the dead shrubs removed but now the whole grass areas is torn up & caution tape has replace the dead shrubs. What a wonderful time to do repairs now at Spit & Spat. Doesn't June begin the wedding season? Another intelligent move by our Commissioner!!!

ReplyDeleteAll along Congress Park from Circular Street andSpring Street to Broadway needs new curbing and those ugly bushes just inside the park need to go. Also there is a broken stone staircase on Circular Street across from the old Pres. Of Skid or house that needs removal. I could go on and on but I will stop there for now.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. The City that is supposed to be one of the best in the country certainly doesn’t live up to the basic standards. In addition to your comment, sidewalks in the downtown business core need to be replaced. I myself saw an older man take a header just off Broadway on Division Street next to the Downtowner. The front porch like the one attached to the house on Grand Ave. which is next to and owned by the same couple that own the Local is on City Property, there is absolutely no setback, could an ordinary citizen get away with this? How many narrow streets have two way traffic with parking on both sides and it’s hard to drive one car down the street? Is all of this because of incompetent decision makers or people that just don’t care? We could go on and on and hopefully we can discuss more soon.
DeleteThe steps across from the house on Circular Street need to be fixed -- NOT REMOVED...they are of historical importance as Dr. Clarke installed them in the early 1800's.
DeleteThen the owner is another slacker and should be made to fix the steps or have Dr. Clarke come back and take them out himself.
DeleteIf the city has no intention of maintaining them they should be removed as they no longer serve a logical or functional purpose. They need to be removed. The end.

ReplyDeleteHey Captain!! News hot off the DPW rumor mill: Another hydraulic spill at our city water supply. The SAME person (Bill Heeney) cut the hydraulic hose on his equipment while FISHING, yes FISHING not working on city time. When help arrived he was seen throwing his fishing pole in the lake, but his tackle box was recovered. Why the hell does Skippy continue to allow his incompetent employees to drive expensive equipment after they've had several accidents & continue to put the city's water supply at risk?
ReplyDeleteAnother bright idea of Scirocco's, let's hire back the PT DPW employee that was convicted of selling drugs last yr.(a trait of his mother & sister) & recently released from prison!!! Yes, the DPW Commissioner has done just that! Must be there's still a need for more drug sales within the dept.
Finally, let's ask the DPW Commissioner WHY Congress Park still DOES NOT have a working camera system in the park. He was given a great deal of money more than a yr. ago to replace the old system but the job still hasn't been completed! Best part is, most of the other Commissioners & Deputy Commissioners know this to be a fact & still Skippy's not held accountable. WHY?

ReplyDeleteJust reading this post because I recently visited Saratoga Springs for the first time and wondered if anyone saw what I saw...a statue of a woman's lower half. Glad it's not my imagination. It all depends on the way it was decorated. After seeing a few more I could discern it was a pointed foot in a ballet slipper, but the first one I saw looked like a butt and thighs in crazy leggings.
