The American flag colors are RED, WHITE and BLUE. While it’s nice to have the flowers planted
at the end of Union Avenue
your planting directions are a little askew.
The colors are, starting with the outside ring and working into the center
BLUE, RED, and WHITE. Switch the
flowers so they either start inside out as red, white & blue or outside in
as red, white & blue. The only other
thing I can figure is that you are honoring another country.
Tip #2
This advice would be like the decision to you made to save
money and buy regular pick-up trucks rather than 4 wheel drive pick-ups for
plowing snow.
You can save money by not replacing the brown (dying) bushes
in our ‘crown jewel’ Congress
Park
- Purchase cases of glue in spray cans and spray all the bushes so the needles don’t fall of the branches.
- Purchase several cases of evergreen color spray paint and spray the dead branches.
Will bet you $100 Gerri Loya planted the flowers. She's Skippy's #1 employee with as much intelligence as Skippy! Not sure what trees you're talking about in the park but ALL the scrubs around the beautiful Spit & Spat are brown & dead. I'm sure the brides are thrilled have their ceremonies there. What a poor excuse for a DPW Commissioner!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, your are correct, the shrubs around Spit & Spat plus the ones near the Casino. I think Skip could care less about the brides, he certainly doesn't care how clean downtown looks like.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is Com Sirocco is lacking is in almost all ways. He's not very smart, he's loyal to all the wrong things and has no interesedt in making Saratoga Springs better. It has finally dawned on me: he needs to go. Anyone will be better!!
ReplyDeleteGreat. Another era of McTygue's. Just what this city needs.... Does anyone realize the work Skip has done on the infrastructure that the McTygue's ignored for generations? Just because you can't see it means he hasn't done anything or is 'stupid'. Or perhaps you'd rather have pretty flowers over drainage that actually works or safer drinking water? Does anyone here realize the budget constraints he has to fix all of these long neglected problems?

Morris, I hope you are serious about the threat of not replying. I don't think you understand the needs of the City and if you are on the same wave length as Skip you are also one who will be a party to bring Saratoga to its knees. As far as his budget goes if he collected the almost $1 million dollars in hook up fees that he will not collect from 2 developers he would have much more money to work with. Also, if his department could do the work on projects that was done in prior administrations instead of hiring outside help he would have more money in his budget and have enough work to keep his employees busy. He still won’t come up with proof that the developers paid for those water hook-ups so keep backing your friend and please don’t reply, we don't want to hear you.

The black ring surrounds the red, white and blue rings to call attention to their sacrifices, the sacrifices of their families, and the defense of our nation’s freedom.
So, there is an outer blak ring and the inner colors are still red, white and blue, not the blue, red and white that was planted.
Blue flowers 5.50 per piece.

Understand why Skip used the least amount of blue?
Ageratum (blue), begonias, marigolds, impatients and petunias are the same price per flat. Skip has a little over $22,000.00 to spend on flowers and doesn’t even put the flower purchase out to bid. Also, the City does not pay for the hanging baskets, the DBA does and when The City digs up the Cannas bulbs in the Fall, it is said that Dehn’s winters them over and the City has to pay for them again as a new purchase.
DeleteI checked with 3 area garden centers and the price per flat for the red, white & blue flowers Skip used are .30 cents each. Follow the money.

I agree with 10:35 AM It's time for Michelle Madigan to show us absolute proof that the two developers PAID the hook-up fees to City. Honestly, anyone that believes Scirocco is intelligent; PLEASE attend or listen to our council meetings. His reply to Marcie Taylor regarding development & flooding on her street: "What do you want me to do?" How about your JOB Skippy? Instead of spending your time driving around with your "Dog" or hiding behind her skirt, do your job!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, but it would have to be on paper, not just saying it was done. Also, I would like to see the pd. invoice where it shows that Bonacio paid for the re-paving of Railroad St. after he destroyed it building the apartment/Price Chopper/Bow Tie buildings. I think developers are supposed to pay the City for the repaving of roads. Lot's of money we are talking about here.
