PREDICTIONS

Here are the first of some early predictions for 2018

11.    Finance Commissioner loses another Deputy and will name her 4th, most in the history of Saratoga politics.

22.    NYS Supreme Court rules in Gordon Boyd’s favor vs. Saratoga County Board of Elections and the BOE will have to do a hand recount of ballots cast for the Charter referendum.

33.    After the recount, the Charter proposal passes by 50 votes and will be on track to start in 2020.

44.    Republican Chairman & Democratic Chairwoman both get booted from their positions and Republican Chairman Hogan tries to practice law again, NOT.

55.    After Charter wins, John Franck & Michele Madigan can’t take the pressure and elope.

  2. Captain, this is New Year's 2018, not April Fool's Day.

  3. You would think after 10 years Scirocco would know how to do a decent job with snow removal. Clueless! City of Schenectady and City of Troy do a better job.!! Just drive from Ballston Spa to Saratoga and you will the difference. He is like a nagging cold...he will not go away. We are stuck with him for 2 more years.

  4. 2018 will Mark Baker ever show his face in Saratoga Springs again?
    Doubt it!
    Best wishes

  5. Someone told me that the Hogan Brothers ( Matt and Jake) are greeters at Walmart. Is that true? What are the odds that two brothers would get law degrees and be disbarred from the same state and live in the same city.

  6. Another water main break. This time it shut down the Gidneoum Putnum for the week. More Skippy, Veitch, and Buckley miss management. SVB

  7. Another water main break near Saratoga Honda!!
Skip's famous for saying about city government
    "If it Ain't Broke"
I wish he would get his out of his A*#
    Broadway sidewalks look like shit!
He is costing this city a fortune.

  8. Lawsuits, Lawsuits, Lawsuits.
How many employee or former employees have files suits against the city?
What are the costs of these?

    2. If that's the case then why doesn't Skippy fix it, what is he waiting for 2020?

      Delete
    3. If it ain't broke don't fix it. It is just rusting from the outside in. It is not broken. No plan at all.

  10. see the shit show going on in Mechanicsville? The Mayor is going power hungry

  11. Did you see how much Dick Sellers gave to preserve the form of government in Saratoga Springs? $12,000+ Same form of government that is a shit show in Mechanicsville

  12. Skip Sirocco is full of excuses and he blames The Mctygues every time there is a issue in DPW. Ten Years Ten Years!! You have been in office 10 years and you still blame the McTygues.
Scirocco has spend well over 150 MILLION dollars in those 10 years and we still hear him whining about the whining about the McTygue era.
Small in brains and small in stature. A deadly combination. His wife has to fight his battles for him.

  14. The Good Old Boys network in Saratoga Springs will not be able to stop the growing number of citizens who want this idiotic form of government ( Commission form) to be abandoned. Look just down the road to our Commission Cousin Mechanicville. The Mechanicville Mayor's actions are a perfect example of how crazy the form is.
Our own city is in serious financial hardship and we will find out just how bad in 90 days when Ms. Madigan has to finalize the books for 2017. We were 1 Million short in 2016. WAKE UP Saratoga Springs

    1. Just imagine the mess in Saratoga if we had a city manager. We would have to pay him/her a salary and then a buyout if a similar situation should occur. Be careful what you wish for.

    2. What are you talking about? Mechanicville has the same form of government as we are not a City Manager form. They were advised by Commissioner Franck after he did a study years ago to change to a City Manager form of government. We can only hope that soon we will be changing to a City Manager/Council form.

  16. Money, can't fix everything at once. The MC. Brothers didn't do much.

  17. 12:09 The citizens of Saratoga are so f’ing SICK of hearing Skippy supporters blaming Tom McTygue for his lack of incompetence! Didn’t do anything, REALLY? I suggest you begin by taking a look at Congress Park! The Italian Gardens, Spit & Spat, the Carousel. Apparently you’ve forgotten that fight! Beautification awards, etc. Give up your “Blame Game” & start demanding action from the non-action DPW Commissioner!

  19. What a terrible job our DPW is doing with this storm. Countless cars are plowed in, and when the cars move the snow is just left in the middle of the street to form a snow bank for oncoming traffic. The hard workers in DPW continue to say what a shitty job Scirocco is doing. No leadership. The lousy DPW workers love him, because leaves them alone. I can not wait to see Broadway after the storm. Big snow banks, no direct access to the stores from the street, leaving people to walk in the street ( with Children) because the banks will not allow anyone to open the passenger door. That is good for Saratoga? Where is management. Eddie Miller is tending to Independence Party Political Business during work hours and Mike Vietch would not the first thing about managing a DPW crew.
The Mctygues could keep the streets clean 24 x 7, not this pathetic effort by little Skippy and his political hacks.
    Viethc paid 130K with benifits.
    Eddie Miller is 85K

Who is the dope Bob Barellie in Geyser Crest? He announces on Facebook every time DPW goes by his house. Today he complimented them for coming by at 10:30 am. Aren't they just doing their job?
Oh yeah Blabbing Bobby is the vice chairman of the Republican Party. Right behind Disbarred- now Walmart greeter Matt Hogan.
I have expected the two disbarred Hogan boys ( Matt and Jake) to find jobs in DPW soon.

    1. The snow plow drivers all have six packs, and I don't mean the kind you get from working out. It's well known that during the night time snow storms they stock up the cabs with their Genny Cream Ale, and whatever happens out there, happens.
Or, most likely, doesn't happen,....like plowing.

  20. What a horrible jib Skippy Mikey and Donny did on the snow. So many accidents including my car getting hit the city will be hearing from another attorney.

  21. Saratoga Springs has been in Upstate NY for ever. Snow is not new either. How can a city service like snow removal be so bad.
Bad management is why. These are not volunteers, we pay them.
We only had a relatively small amount of snow and we are coached to kiss the ass of DPW because they tried to do a good job.
Skippy boy frequently be heard say "Saratoga Springs is the envy of NYS". We are not the envy when it come to snow removal. Dis Ballston Spa get any less snow than Saratoga? Did Wilton get any less? Both towns did a great job with fewer employees.
When will the snow banks on Broadway disappear? Spring?

  22. Please call the office if you aren't getting plowed, noe that they have GPS they can tell if it was plowed or not and who hit who. Smart.

    1. Great for the GPS. I hope someone can now tell when the trucks are at an employees house or when they are taking 2 hour coffee & lottery ticket breaks.

  23. Hey, how about that ice storm on Sunday morning? I see trucks all over with their blinking lights, but I also see cars slipping and sliding. Did anyone tell them to put some salt and sand down?
Yes, it was a Sunday, do they want to work or don't they?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Drive the streets you will see. The plow may have come down the street, but does not show a completed street.
Today all streets are ice covered. No one has salted the streets that I have been on. It is now mid afternoon still no salt.
DPW is always make excuses. If you do not want the job..get out

  25. Let's see...KKK flyers on cars, a sink hole where the feed store was just demolished and the city streets not being plowed properly. Are you gonna tackle this stuff or should I start my own blog?
