As of today, Saratoga
Springs has a new indoor swimming pool and it has been
named the Scirocco Victorian Pool. We
are so glad that the Commissioner put in new water filters at the water
treatment plant so the pool has crystal clear water. The left side of the pool is 6’ deep and
slopes to 8’ on the opposite side. It
seems that when the tanks were being filled no one bothered to shut off the
valve and the inside flooded. This may
be a bright spot for Scirocco, he wanted to add a new position but the budget
wouldn’t allow for it and even after debate, when it came time to vote on the
budget, Skip voted for it saying ‘this is a good budget’. So he is looking for ways to make some new
revenue. The Rec. Center
News Flash: After
promising that the houses on the East side by Saratoga Lake that he would not
use the lake as a drinking source by Skip and the Republican opposition, they
will now be supplied with water from the County pipeline and will add to their
area by glowing at night, hopefully they will shine in different colors so they
can form a Christmas wreath led by none other than Wilma Koss.
Well, some news just in.
Chris Mathiesen has just won
election to his current DPS post. This
means that the only post that Shauna can have is Deputy Commish of Public
Works. This should not be a stretch for
her because by learning to dig graves she would be a natural to work with the
men putting new sewer lines in, as long as Donna says it’s ok. It is said that John Harringbone (I know) is pushing
Skip to get her in the trenches.
Police say they arrived at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway at around 11 p.m. Saturday in response to an incident involving a man who left the premises following the dispute. The alleged head banger is accused of twice slamming a woman into a wall, pinning her in a door way so she could not move and threatening to “smash her face in” the next time he saw her.
Upon entering his house, the officers had contact with the slammer who they described in a press release as uncooperative. He allegedly retreated into the back of the home and returned “brandishing a large cleaver above his head, waving it in a threatening manner and screamed at officers to get out of the house.”
After a few moments, the Tasee tossed aside the cleaver, struggled briefly with the cops, was hit with a Taser and taken into custody.
Did Yepsen ever announce who her Deputy would be ?

DeleteI think Dave has to look for another career. Yepsen, being backed up by other reporters and people close by couldn't believe his wordage. I don't think he could get another reporter job unless it was the Siberian Times. Only time will tell how the new administration will work out. Yepsen though should be a friendlier and accessible Mayor than Johnson was in his 6 years. As far as Sutton-Dowd goes an icicle would be better than she is.

DeleteAs of today, I haven't heard who Yepsen will have as her Deputy. I can say with complete certainly it will not be Shauna Sutton.

That is fine, but don't knock people for not liking the job Skip is doing. He is a very nice guy, however, that doesn't make him qualified to handle his position. He has been over his head and the City looks it. He doesn't even have a good Deputy to make him look good.

DeleteSkippy is so far out of his league and he knows it. That's why he stays in his city hall office and does not walk around Broadway and the like. Because someone may ask him a question and he doesn't have an answer.
The city crews are working at half speed because no one asks them to make the city shine. Skip is no leader, he's always been a follower.
It just keeps getting better & better w/the Skippy Scirocco show!! All I can say is the voters are getting what they asked for, an incompetent, uneducated dog-catcher to run the 2nd largest dept. within the city. Weeks before the elections he decided to hold a "ribbon cutting" ceremony @ the Treatment Plant River but forgot the alert the press! I also hear that Skippy as finally decided to give supervisor Betty French another "new" job beginning this week. Apparently she is now supervising two (McTygue supporters) in the daily maintenance of all city own parking lots and garages. That's right folks.....Supervisor of parking lots!!! Not to mention there's still no supervisor in the city's most treasured park. I'm told Skippy had no other choice but to give Ms. French some kind of supervisory job instead of his earlier created inventory control/tool room person. His back was actually pushed against the wall by no other than Ms. French herself. Between the union grievances, PERB hearings, EEO discrimination claim, and going before the civil service commission he HAD to come up with something or be found in contempt. I wish I was a fly on the wall in Skippy's Man Cave while that discussion was going on between Skippy, Donna, Shauna and Timmy. At least we know the city will have the cleanest parking areas in the Tri County.

DeleteNot everyone who is chosen as a Deputy is an expert in the field as was shown in Sutton-Dowd's case. Moving from a grave digger to a Deputy Mayor gave her the same sense of arrogance that she showed her clients at Greenridge. Sutton-Dowd's father was indeed a good man and had some angels as children, she cannot help it because she wasn't one of them.

Lauritz handled himself well when he worked for the City, but was bounced off a board he served on due to lack of professionalism. LaSalle lacks the political and leadership skills necessary for the job and I doubt she has the institutional knowledge for the job.

DeleteThere more to the DPW job than making things pretty. You must also work on pipes, water supply, sewer, roads even the trees. All which have not been taken care of in years. He hasn't been given the money, tools, or employees that Tommy had. Now it is catch up. Let see I think that Finance has a Director, every one has a ex. sec., they even took that way for 5 months.

DeleteI can prove that the Commish is working with less money and men. Remember Mc tyuge has hired most of the people that work at DPW. Most of them are out of their league. In the office there was Lisa, Joy, Joann, Joette, Lois. There is now Joette, Kathy and Kelly. Donna as Ex. Sec. and no director. Do we want to go into the Supers, Wheelelock, nice guy, doesn't know a weed from a flower. Betty making 56,000 to answer a phone. Don't DPW supers work along with a crew and plow, she is a nice lady, made it to Super in 6 weeks. Scirocco has to work with employees that really can't do the job they were hired to do. I can go on and on. Pat Design choice for DPW Dep. was Timmy Cogan.
ReplyDeleteBetty was doing a great job in the casino, before little skip railroaded her out of that position and place her in do nothing positions. It's skip that did that. Her day in court is just waiting to be resolved and then skip will cry some more when it's shown what he has done to her.

If the Commissoner can't manage his department then the fault is his, it has been 6 years. I doubt Cogan was Design's choice, from what I heard it was Donna Buckley who made the choice, everyone that has business with or tries to do businesses with DPW has to deal with Donna first. Donna is the real Deputy and even tells Skip what to do and when to do it.

People that go through life blaming others for all their short comings are un-happy whiners that don’t amount to much. And that’s skippy. Donna wears the pants in that office!!
